Palmyra Free at Noon - 01.31.25

Palmyra (no, not the town in New Jersey) performed in excellent fashion at this Friday’s Free at Noon at World Cafe Live. The folk trio, originally from Richmond Virginia, played passionate and engaging music for the crowd this Friday. To start, they opened with their song “Shape I’m In,” their second most-played song on Spotify. This song immediately set the tone, with incredible similarities to bands like The Lumineers.

They followed with “Palm Readers,” and from there, the rest of the set came from upcoming album Restless, which is being released March 28th. The band’s members — Monoa Bell on bass, with Teddy Chipouras and Sasha Landon on guitar and vocal — infused their stripped-down instrumentation infused with great songwriting and singing: it’s been a recipe of success for this group, with so much more to come.

The group continued through their set list teasing songs from their upcoming album: “Arizona,” “Speak My Mind,” and “Buffalo.” These songs really touched the crowd on an entirely different level, as people began to vibe and interact with the band. They began to sing along, clap, dance, and show love and enthusiasm, and after a rousing “Go Birds!” cheer, they closed their set perfectly with a calm, beautiful song named “Can’t Slow Down.”
