Acclaimed modern rock artist and producer Bartees Strange releases his newest album, Horror, this Friday, February 14th. A follow-up to his previous projects Live Forever and Farm to Table in 2020 and 2022, it’s set to make an impact, as late night television fans found out this week on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Strange and his band appeared on Kimmel to debut a new track called “Backseat Banton,” the final track of the album. In the song — like in previous singles “Sober” and “Wants Needs” — Bartees talks about life’s tension between control and surrender, stress, and the many moods we feel. His consistently changing genres provide for the mix of emotions that this album explore.
Watch the performance below, and get a look at Bartees Strange’s tour dates so far — an L.A. show tonight, a hometown concert in D.C. on Saturday, and a couple shows in New York next week. We expect more tour dates to come in the not-too-distant future.
