Fresh off the grill, this week’s new albums are cooked to perfection. With former Vampire Weekend member Rostam returning as co-producer, Haim embrace their spontaneous side on their fourth LP, I Quit. Philly combo Mo Lowda & the Humble’s Tailing the Ghost is a dynamic collection of anthems that sets the stage for a breakout year. Guided by the cosmos, Kentucky songwriter S.G. Goodman reflects on the death of a close friend and reunites with her longtime guitarist on Planting by the Signs.

For Raspberry Moon, his latest as Hotline TNT, Will Anderson broke his usual method of solo recording to collaborate with the touring musicians who’ve become part of the band’s story. Meg Remy’s ever-morphing U.S. Girls are locked in on Scratch It, delivering glamorous grooves and mind-expanding orchestrations. Perfectly titled to match its weightless sound, Cloud Drifter is the guest-packed fourth album by L’Eclair, the Swiss instrumental collective led by brothers Stefan and Yavor Lilov.

Listen for spotlights on new records like these (and more) every week on the XPN Morning Show and Indie Rock Hit Parade.
