This week’s batch of new albums includes an upcoming XPNFest guest and a group making their Free at Noon debut. On So Long Little Miss Sunshine, her first album since dissolving her bluegrass combo Golden Highway, Molly Tuttle pivots to sharp Americana-laced pop while still leaving room for her virtuosic guitar work. A surprise release arriving just months after Everything Must Go, Goose’s Chain Yer Dragon features studio takes of live staples and fan favorites alongside brand-new cuts. Fresh off a reissue campaign of his early records, Bay Area songwriter Cass McCombs reunites with some of his first collaborators on his 11th album, Interior Live Oak. Not only does Alison Goldfrapp deliver irresistible dance anthems on her second solo album, she does so on her own terms; Flux arrives on Goldfrapp’s own recently launched label, A.G. Records.

Working with several Chicago contemporaries, including Jamila Woods and Vic Mensa, Chance the Rapper draws inspiration from world travel and historical figures on Star Line. New Radiations is the tenth album by Marissa Nadler; Nashville’s foremost gothic songwriter conjures a stark, ghostly tapestry with frequent collaborator Randall Dunn. Quirky hitmaker Stephen Bishop draws the curtain on nearly 50 years of eclectic music making on his 20th album, THIMK. Featured in World Café’s Sense of Place visit to Provo, Utah, The Aces go out on the town with their glittery fourth album, Gold Star Baby.

Listen for spotlights on new records like these (and more) every week on the XPN Morning Show and Indie Rock Hit Parade.
