Every month on World Cafe, in partnership with our friends at KRVS, in Lafayette, La., we present the Acadiana Music Showcase, putting a spotlight of the best of Southern Louisiana’s rich and diverse musical scene.

Earlier this year, Dustin Dale Gaspard wowed all four judges on The Voice with his rendition of Sam Cooke‘s “Bring It On Home to Me” in French Cajun. That’s because, for over a decade, Gaspard has been a fixture of Louisiana’s Gulf Coast music scene.

Born in Cow Island, La., Gaspard grew up listening to swamp pop, ’50s and ’60s soul and folk music. Eventually, he made his way to Lafayette and released his debut album in 2022.

Today, we have performances of songs from Gaspard’s latest album, Dylan With the Pontius of Love. Enjoy.
