Who They Are: A new wave of ska is gathering in the 2020s, and bands like Philadelphia’s Catbite are doing all they can to bring the genre’s latest revival to the next level. Lead by singer Brittany Luna, their politically-informed and relentlessly-positive take on the genres has gained them attention from labels and fans nationwide, and they eventually signed to the ska-punk label Bad Time Records in 2021. The band has opened for legends like The English Beat as well as contemporary faves The Starting Line and Jeff Rosenstock, were named XPN’s Artist to Watch in July of 2022, and appeared on The Key Studio Sessions, at Free at Noon, and on the lineup of the 2022 XPoNential Music Festival.
