Parliament’s “Mothership Connection”
Celebrating 50 years of Parliament’s ‘Mothership Connection’
Fifty years ago, the world got funkier when Parliament landed with their fourth album, Mothership Connection.
In today’s Culture Corner segment, World Cafe correspondent John Morrison takes us into the Mothership universe. He talks about how George Clinton‘s bands, Parliament and Funkadelic, made more than just music — they had a revolutionary vision with the stage show, lyrics, album art and more all working together to tell a story.
“They were world-building before the term ‘world-building’ became, like, a buzzword,” Morrison says.
