When Canadian band Foxwarren released its self-titled debut album in 2018, it won a Juno Award for alternative album of the year. Then the band went quiet.

Life happened. Frontman Andy Shauf continued his solo career, band members moved to different cities, and then the pandemic made it impossible for Foxwarren to get together to record in the same room as they had for their first record.

That might have been the end of the line for another band, but today you’ll hear how working remotely opened new creative doors for them and led to their new album, 2. The album is full of experimentation, particularly with samples, and the band talks about how they had to get creative to translate those ideas into a live show now that they’re back together and performing again.
