Tune into a mini-concert with jazz quintet SML

We’ve been in a jazzy mood lately here at World Cafe. We’ve welcomed a number of groove architects into our studio, like Tom Skinner, Christian McBride and Nate Smith, to name a few.
Today, we’re keeping that streak going with a performance from SML. The Los Angeles-based quintet is relentlessly committed to improvisation, and their music blurs the lines between jazz, electronic music and improvisational music.
The music on their latest album, How You Been, starts live onstage. Then it gets pulled apart, reshaped and transformed in the studio into something otherworldly.
There’s no set list for today’s show. It’s 25 minutes of SML stretching out without edits or reconstructions. Enjoy.
