The Beths on World Cafe

“Life is about maintenance.” It’s not a very exciting mantra, but it’s one that started resonating with @thebeths lead singer Elizabeth Stokes after a medical diagnosis began affecting her mental and physical health — and her relationship to songwriting. The New Zealand band’s new album, Straight Line Was A Lie, sees Stokes navigating that life lesson. Just don’t call it an “epiphany.” The band sits down to talk to contributing host Kallao about how they got inspired to make the new record, plus The Beths perform live in the studio.

Filmed at @wxpn in Philadelphia, PA.
