Trina Shoemaker joins host Raina Douris

Trina Shoemaker is a trailblazer. She’s been working as a recording engineer, a mixer, and a producer for over 30 years – But when she started out in the ‘80s, this behind-the-scenes work in the music industry was male dominated, and remains considerably so today. Shoemaker went on to record artists like Emmylou Harris, Sheryl Crow, and Brandi Carlile, AND she was the first woman to ever win a Grammy for Best Engineering. She joins host Raina Douris, sharing about what it took to get there – As World Cafe celebrates International Women’s Day.
