“Sense of Place: Richmond” – Saw Black joins host Raina Douris

We’re visiting Richmond, Virginia this week on the World Cafe, and today, we meet Saw Black. The up-and-coming band is led by Justin Black, who was brought up in a musical community…His grandfather was a jazz musician and his uncle manages the city’s In Your Ear studios. We’ll hear about Justin’s path, from painting porches in exchange for lessons as a recording engineer, to learning he was meant to be behind the mic, rather than the control board. Plus, a live performance from Saw Black.
