Culture Corner with John Morrison, hosted by Raina Douris

When the Beastie Boys organized the first Tibetan Freedom Concert in 1996, it kicked off a long series of benefit shows that raised money and awareness for the important cause, while also marking a shift in the band’s career. In this new era, the group moved from being anti-social to socially conscious. On the next edition of Culture Corner with John Morrison, he’ll discuss the impact of the Beastie Boys bringing “the benefit concert” to the MTV generation.
