Emilio Castillo from Tower of Power joins host Raina Douris
Famed horn band Tower of Power is celebrating its 50th anniversary! To mark the occasion, the band released a live album called 50 Years of Funk & Soul: Live at the Fox Theater, recorded in their hometown: Oakland, CA. Founding member Emilio Castillo has been with the band through it all. This week, he joins host Raina Douris to walk through the past 50 years, starting in the early days, when he and his bandmates decided to stop playing covers and start writing their own original songs. We’ll also hear some recordings from the anniversary show.
