Watkins Family Hour joins host Stephen Kallao

Siblings Sean and Sara Watkins spent over 30 years playing music together alongside Chris Thile in the popular bluegrass band, Nickel Creek. But along the way, they set up shop at the Los Angeles nightclub, Largo, where they honed their live act as Watkins Family Hour. The project developed over several years of improvised sets with performers they brought in – like Jackson Browne and Mandy Moore – but Sean and Sara’s new album is pretty much just the two of them. Today, the duo performs songs from Brother Sister live, and we’ll hear the story of the first time they wrote a song together.
