Rhiannon Giddens joins host Raina Douris

Rhiannon Giddens’ latest album is called Calling Me Home – And it asks the question: What IS home?…Is it where you were born? Where you live now? Or something else entirely Rhiannon assembles a mix of traditional songs and originals, all united by the concept of home, for her new record with collaborator Francesco Turrisi. On the next World Cafe we’ll hear about inspiration for the record and what it was like to be in Ireland, away from the U.S., during the Black Lives Matter movement last summer. All of this, plus, Rhiannon performs some of the new music live.
