Julia Holter joins host Raina Douris

The beginnings of Something in the Room She Moves began swirling inside Julia Holter’s head during the COVID lockdowns, when she became a new mother. The Los Angeles-based musician found herself increasingly aware of the body as both a vessel and a vector. On the World Cafe, Holter talks about transforming her anxieties into the playful and experimental compositions on her new album.
