Dylan Cartlidge joins host Stephen Kallao

Dylan Cartlidge faced a lot of setbacks and challenges as he grew up in foster care in rural England. But the young artist was able to overcome adversity and realize his goal of making music for a living – An achievement Cartlidge credits in part to his adoptive mother. We’ll hear his story on the next World Cafe, along with live performances from his debut record, Hope Above Adversity. It’s filled with uplifting anthems that range from funk, to pop, to hip hop…And it also might be the first album recorded in the laundry room of a shared household.
