Nídia joins host Raina Douris
Nídia makes a type of dance music called Batida and has said she wants to be the biggest DJ in the world. She is part of a community of African immigrants that live in the outskirts of Lisbon, Portugal. In World Cafe’s final edition of their Sense of Place series you will go into her bedroom studio and hear how a local record label has supported her, and the work of others like her, to help break down some long-standing prejudices.
