Get into the “Season of Giving” with Hurricane Sandy Relief Concerts in Atlantic City and at MilkBoy
More efforts for Hurricane Sandy relief are popping up in the tri-state region this weekend, beginning with a show headlined by none other than Shakey himself. Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Trey Anastasio of Phish, and Everest have collaboratively organized a benefit show at The Borgata in Atlantic City for this evening. Proceeds from tonight’s show will be directed to the American Red Cross Hurricane Sandy Relief effort, which you can contribute to here. Anastasio, who formerly lived in Pronceton, will be performing a special acoustic set for tonight’s benefit. General admission tickets for the all-ages benefit are available at our concert calendar here; the concert starts at 8. Below, check out Anastasio’s Acoustic Barn performance of “Time Turns Elastic.”
In case you aren’t able to hit up AC tonight, Milkboy Philly is also hosting a Hurricane Sandy Relief show with headliners Christie Lenee and Trevor Gordon Hall. Opening acts include blues artist Brian LaPann of 61 North with Casey Alvarez and vintage country act No Good Sister. The 21+ event is set to kick off around 8; you can find more tickets and information here.
Also at Milkboy Philly on Friday night, Thee Idea Men and Restore The Shore have organized a PHILLYANTHROPY concert which will also benefit victims of Hurricane Sandy. Thee Idea Men will be performing with local acts Ill Doots, OhBree and Lucy Stone, whose fresh three-track EP Would You? can be downloaded for free here. Tickets to the 21+ event can be found here.
