Hit Frankford Ave’s First Friday art shows hosted by Bleeding Rainbow’s Sarah Everton and Hound’s Perry Shall
One night, two art opening, probably LOTS of musicians. Probably. First, we’ve got Sarah Everton, bassist for Bleeding Rainbow, hosting “The Month Punk Broke: Drawings, & Miscelleneous Shit by Sarah Everton” at Rocket Cat Cafe. Everton has done the album artwork for Bleeding Rainbow’s past releases and album artwork for fellow fuzz-rockers Eternal Summers, among a multitude of other projects. Everton’s colorful approach to a multimedia-patchwork aesthetic promises to deliver a compelling collection of work. Find out more details about the event here.
Right down the street, you can head over to Little Baby’s Ice Cream “world headquarters” where Perry Shall from Hound is taking over with “PERRY WUZ HERE: An ‘Art’ Show- An Exploitation of a Crooked Mind Under The Influence of Ice Cream.” In addition to Shall’s album artwork for different bands, you might have seen a few folks around Philly wearing his tee shirts, most noticeably one that reads “Kurt Smells Like Teen Spirit” or noticed one of his stickers stuck on your neighbor’s bike. The multifaceted artist’s event will also feature an exclusive ice cream flavor created by Perry Shall himself (it will only be available the night of the show). Check out event details here. The following week, Hound plays Johnny Brenda’s – you can find more information on our concert calendar here.
