Next Friday, February 17th, Tim Showalter’s project, Strand of Oaks, is throwing an in-store listening party at Manayunk’s Main Street Music to celebrate the debut of his newly released album, Hard Love — and it’s sure to be a grand ole’ time. Not only do party-goers get to jam out to some awesome new tunes, but those buying LP’s that night will also be treated to an on-the-spot, Showalter designed album sleeve, and have a chance at winning a cassette boom box also concocted by Showalter.

If you’re just too dang impatient to wait until next week, there’s even more good news: anyone who preorders the vinyl will be treated to an immediate stream of the album. Watch Showalter’s pretty hysterical announcement for that below.

If for some strike of bad luck you cannot attend the listening debut shindig, have no fear, you can still catch Strand of Oaks on Friday, March 10th, when he will be playing Union Transfer. Check out the XPN Concert Calendar for more details, and listen to the single “Radio Kids” (which sounds like if Bruce Springsteen and The Killer’s had a beautiful baby) below.
