Watch The War on Drugs’ heartwarming new video for “Holding On”
With news feeds constantly chocked full of horrible events and somber information, it can be easy to forget the good in life. Like real, wholesome, simple kindness. Don’t get me wrong, it’s incredibly important to stay informed and involved in the not-so-feel-good news, but every once in a while, in the name of sanity, it’s vital to remind yourself of how people can just be awesome human beings to one another.
The War on Drugs provide this much-needed breath of fresh air to you today in the form of a music video for their single, “Holding On.” And all I can say is, my heart. Under filmmaker, Brett Haley’s direction, this beautiful video feels more like a short film, which follows an older widowed man through an unexpected day of sweet and simple encounters.
Set to the song’s twinkling, shimmery sound, we travel with the man as he greets an adorable golden retriever, catches up with old pals over a cup o’ joe and a game of pool, and later hitches a ride from Adam Granduciel himself. By the end, this video’s going to make you feel all of the things — reminding you that hey, life can sometimes be pretty dang nice.
The War on Drugs will be marking a marvelous hometown return with a performance at The Dell Music Center on September 21st; find more info on the show over at the XPN Concert Calendar. Watch the touching video for “Holding On” below.
