Trenton-based hip-hop duo Agudos Clefjust released a new video for their song, “No Soy Yo,” from their latest album, Teoria. Translated as “It’s Not Me,” the video focuses on dealing with peer pressure and identity.

Following MC, Josue Lora, as a man trying to navigate the dilemma between being accepted and staying true to himself, we watch as Lora’s character begins to join in the destructive tendencies of his friends with trepidation, until gradually becoming fully embraced by the group.

This builds into the inspiring end of the video, which features a crackled, muffled recording calling for strength and hope; the voice advising, “You can be yourself without fear of being judged. It’s not easy, but you got to step out on that limb and take all the shots that come at you.” Fading out, we’re left with the stark yet impacting Bible verse of 1 Pedro 4:4, which offers: “They are surprised that you do not join them in their reckless, wild living, and they heap abuse on you.”
