Sunflower Bean were a big part of our 2018: they released their earworm-packed sophomore album Twentytwo in Blue in March, and made appearances at both Free at Noon and XPN Fest. But it doesn’t look like the New York-based indie rockers are taking a break anytime soon. They already have a new four-track EP, called King Of The Dudes, slated for release on January 25, and its lead single “Come For Me” is out now.

The new EP marks a slight shift in tone for Sunflower Bean; it’s louder, rawer, and charged with more unfiltered emotion than their previous laid-back tunes. Vocalist/bassist Julia Cumming said of “Come For Me”:

“This song was inspired by inner strength, power, and sexual freedom. In 2018 there is no time to waste and no time for shame. This song is a declaration of that. Do you really want to come for me? Do you really want to waste my time? The song is a dare, a threat, and a beckoning.”
