Beach House’s latest album embraces maximalism in both size and sound

You’ve heard the old saying “Less is more,” but to quote Frasier Crane, “If less is more, just think about how much more more will be!” That’s closer to the sentiment Alex Scally and Victoria Legrand of Beach House embraced while making their latest album, Once Twice Melody. That album — their eighth since the band formed in Baltimore, Maryland, back in 2004 — was released in four chapters over the course of several months.
