As we inch back, bleary-eyed, from the long holiday weekend, we find before us a modest but mighty collection of new albums to dig into. Beloved indie rockers Metric come storming back with Formentera, a glittering collection inspired by the Balearic island of the same name. Rising British singer James Bay worked with Americana titan Dave Cobb (and Brandon Flowers of The Killers) on his third full-length, Leap. Portland songwriting icon Laura Veirs continues her decades-long spotless streak with Found Light; a captivating portrait of an artist rediscovering herself through song.
After Hours is the latest offering of lyrical and melodic instrumental music by virtuosic guitarist Delicate Steve. Los Angeles artist NoSo explores themes of identity and heritage on Stay Proud of Me, their debut album. Scott Kannberg of Pavement releases his fourth (and, allegedly final) solo album as Spiral Stairs, the new wave-inspired Medley Attack!!. PRESS PLAY on these releases (and some more) below…
