Local singer-songwriter Tubey Frank has a new home for his music in the locally-oriented label Spring Garden Records. The CCP imprint, which has released music by Philly faves Arthur Thomas & The Funkitorium and Aprilfoolchild, will put out Tubey Frank’s next album, Apple Pie Bible, later this year.

The announcement comes this week with a new song from the Lancaster County-born Tubey Frank, “Some Beat Revival,” a cleverly biting tune that fuses frontperson Josh Kirwin’s love of exploratory Jeff Buckley-esque songwriting with rock and roll Philly grit, not to mention an assist from his music community. Joining Kirwin in the group vocals on the new single are Philly friends Sug Daniels, Sean “Danger” Smith, Reese Florence, and Ben Parry of Catbite, among others.

Take a listen below, revisit Tubey Frank’s Key Studio Session while you’re at it, and see the band play the Lounge at World Cafe Live on Thursday, March 30th with Lauren Scott and Jill Ryan of Great Time. Tickets and more information on the show can be found at WXPN’s Concerts and Events page.
