PRESS PLAY: New Albums out May 19th

Secure your globe, atlas, and planisphere for this week’s eclectic assortment of new releases. For their 10th studio album, Dave Matthews Band chart a psychedelic course for adventure on Walk Around the Moon. A highlight from this year’s NonComm showcases, Hannah Jadagu packs her full length-debut, Aperture, with charming hooks and rhythmic punch. London trio bar italia conjure multiple generations of gloomy, fuzzed-out rock on their debut, Tracey Denim. Tuareg virtuosos Tinariwen explore the transatlantic heritage of guitar, banjo, and lap steel on their Daniel Lanois-produced 10th album, Amatssou.

Hinterland is Naomi Hamilton’s third outing as Jealous of the Birds; the multi-disciplinary artist’s message of honest self-acceptance is creatively expressed. Returning after eight years, electropop duo Tanlines are a little older and wiser (and just as joyful) on their third LP, The Big Mess. Bringing together members of Philly’s Radiator Hospital and Yowler, Paper Bee showcase bandleader Nick Berger’s strength and fragility on Thaw, Freeze, Thaw.
