After last week’s over-abundance of new releases, August wraps up with… another remarkably crowded release day!
North Carolina folk-rockers Hiss Golden Messenger shimmer and shine on Jump for Joy. Chicago’s Ratboys recruited former Death Cab for Cutie member Chris Walla to give The Window a radio-ready gloss. Ahead of their appearance at XPNFest, Old Crow Medicine Show‘s Jubilee coincides with the group’s silver anniversary.
As his band Big Thief continues its limitless ascent, co-leader Buck Meek shows off his knack for cosmic balladry on his third solo LP, Haunted Mountain. True to its name, Bite is a ferocious (and futuristic) concept album by Austin glam-punks A Giant Dog. Nashville-based Becca Mancari offers uplifting anthems on Left Hand, which features contributions from their Bermuda Triangle bandmate Brittany Howard.
