On the back of a discodelic performance at last week’s XPoNential Fest and their brand new album Silver, Say She She has been named our Artist To Watch for October of 2023.

The female-led soul trio has wowed audiences in the short time they’ve been together. Singers Nya Gazelle Brown, Piya Malik, and Sabrina Mileo Cunningham grouped up in early 2022 looking to recreate the iconic sound of late 70’s girl groups, paying homage to acts like The Pointer Sisters and Sister Sledge with sparkling disco grooves and mesmerizing three-piece harmonies while retaining the emphasis on politically charged lyricism.

Hailing from both London and Brooklyn, the trio’s name is a nod to Nile Rodgers “C’est chi-chi!: It’s Chic!” They released their highly anticipated sophomore LP Silver on September 29, doubling down on all the sounds that define Say She She as one of the hottest new acts in the industry. Disco grooves, soaring vocals, funky guitar, and tight low end anchor each song as the trio effortlessly imbue chart topping pop hooks onto songs like “Echo In The Chamber” and “Forget Me Not.”

Say She She’s U.S and U.K tour kicked off with last Friday’s performance at XPoNential Fest and their ever-growing 8-piece band returns to Philly on October 20, playing World Cafe Live with support from Salt Cathedral. Tour dates and more information can be found here. Listen Say She She’s full set from XPoNential Music Festival here.
