Philly indie psychedelic rock band Echo Kid is back with a new single, “Can’t Get You Outta My Head,” accompanying March’s “Still.”
Echo Kid was born from the pandemic, originally a detour by former RFA members Brendan McHale and Christian Turzo-Egan. Though seemingly in flux, it’s a sometimes-four-piece (that’s featured Alec Powell on drums and Will Loftus on guitar), sometimes-seven-piece, sometimes duo who refuse to be defined by one sound or structure.
“Can’t Get You Outta My Head,” as well as last month’s “Still,” is a reflection of the group’s core. Simply ‘Branz and Cranz’ (as listed on their Bandcamp) playing multiple instruments and backing vocals, the songs reflect the group’s main influences, namely the Beatles. Echo Kid has previously covered the Beatles’ work, most notably in a rooftop concert in 2022.
Echo Kid will play Johnny Brenda’s alongside Pine Barons and The Tilsburys on June 29th. Listen to the single below or get tickets for their next show on XPN’s Concert Calendar.
