The first month of summer demands a sound that feels sun-drenched and a bit nostalgic. And XPN’s June Artist to Watch, The Lemon Twigs, fit the bill perfectly. Brothers Brian and Michael D’Addario started The Lemon Twigs in high school, and over time, they’ve perfected that surfy, flower-power pop-rock perfect for road trips down the shore or even to the mountains, whatever your preference.

The D’Addarios developed a love for the Beatles and Beach Boys in childhood and quickly learned to play and sing. Their first LP, Do Hollywood, completed with friends Megan Zeankowski and Danny Ayala, followed a limited cassette release of their debut What We Know. More recently, The Lemon Twigs have shifted from concept albums inspired by the late ‘60s and ‘70s to LPs that feel more like a long-lost Brian Wilson demo. Their latest album, A Dream is All We Know, was a joyful alternative to 2023’s Everything Harmony

Gloriously eccentric, The Lemon Twigs have truly come into their own over the past few years. Currently on a world tour with touring members Danny Ayala and Reza Matin, The Lemon Twigs are coming back to Philly with a show at Underground Arts on October 11th. Tickets and more information available on XPN’s Concert Calendar.
