Though the group has retired from formal touring, Philly indie group Dr. Dog still plans to occasionally perform live for fans. initially they were just supposed to visit the Mann Center this summer — which, along with a Red Rocks show in Colorado, would have been their only appearances of 2024. But that changed this week. In an Instagram post Monday, Dr. Dog announced two “warm up shows” with two sets both at Wilmington’s The Queen on July 11th and Denver’s Gothic Theatre on July 17th.

After announcing late last year that the group would start recording music together again, Dr. Dog has been releasing a steady stream of hits. May’s “Tell Your Friends” followed their previous singles, “Talk is Cheap” and “Still Can’t Believe,” and their newest single, the M. Ward-assisted “Love Struck,” out today. Their next album, simply titled Dr. Dog, releases July 19th.

Presale for the new warm up shows go on sale Friday, June 14th at 10 a.m.
