Singer-songwriter Suki Waterhouse has been named WXPN’s Artist To Watch for November of 2024.
While some might be familiar Waterhouse’s career as a model and actress — she appeared in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and voiced a role in Detective Piakachu, among others — the Los Angeles via London artist’s musical career began building with the Sub Pop Records release of her 2022 debut full length I Can’t Let Go. Waterhouse’s music is lush and dreamlike, with Lana Del Ray and Mazzy Star as kindred spirits.
Upon the release of Milk Teeth, an EP of her early singles in 2023, Suki performed at a Free At Noon Concert, where we were struck by Waterhouse’s “affinity for stylish 20th century pop and its descendants — The Ronettes and Nancy Sinatra to Sharon Van Etten and Bat For Lashes.” Following several successful tours in North America and Abroad, Waterhouse released her sophomore album, Memoir Of A Sparklemuffin in September of 2024.
Suki Waterhouse will return to Philadelphia on Tuesday, December 10th when WXPN Welcomes her to Franklin Music Hall. Tickets and more information on the show can be found at the WXPN Concert Calendar.
