“I don’t wanna die in Denver” sings Catbite‘s Brittany Luna from Denver’s Ball Arena, home to the city’s ice hockey team. In the music for the brand new single, out today, the band performs from center ice, then grimly gets picked off by a hooded villain, “Scooby Doo slasher” style. It’s a good thing Catbite knows how to skate, (which now I’m thinking about it, seems like a prerequisite for ska groups) but their skills can’t spare them.
Catbite’s new EP DOOM GARDEN comes out May 9th via Bad Time Records. It was produced in Philly by Sarah Tudzin at Retro City Sounds, and features some heavy-hitting guests, namely Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy and Zayna Youssef of Sweet Pill. You can pre-order the EP now via Bandcamp and stream “Die In Denver” on your preferred platform.
Starting this spring, Catbite will embark on their biggest headlining tour yet, with a stop in Atlantic City for the Beer & Music Festival on March 29th. They’ll also play Philly’s First Unitarian Church on May 30th with opener The OBGM’s. Tickets are available at the WWXPN Concert Calendar.
