It’s our favorite weekend of the year! The XPoNential Music Festival, our annual musical party at Wiggins Park on the Camden Waterfront, kicks off Friday, September 19th at 5 p.m. and brings you three days of incredible music: local favorites, national stars, artists you love and artists we’d love you to discover.

WXPN and NPR Live Sessions are teaming up again, giving audiences a front-row seat to all the festival’s performances. Check out the schedule for our live video webcast below, and don’t miss it streaming here and on NPR Live Sessions.

Additionally, watch this space for photo galleries, recaps of each performance, audio archives and more! And if you can join us in person, single-day passes are available at XPNFest.org. See you on the waterfront!

All times are in Eastern Time and subject to change.

Fawziyya Heart

Philly’s Fawziyya Heart is a soul singer as much as she’s a community-builder. She’s a member of the dance music collective Worldtown, and organizer of the Heart Beat songwriting and poetry showcase. Her serene sound will kick off the Marina Stage lineup on Friday at 5:00 p.m.

Black Buttafly

Led by singer-songwriter and keyboardist Kayla Childs, Black Buttafly is an emerging Philly artist with a genre-blending sound that mixes funk, soul, R&B, and pop in the spirit of Stevie Wonder and Lauryn Hill.

Southern Avenue

Charismatic Memphis rockers Southern Avenue take their name from their city’s arterial street where you’ll find legendary Stax Records, who released the four-piece’s debut in 2017. Their vibrant sound echos that label’s legacy, and they’ll bring it to Camden on Friday.

Preservation Hall Jazz Band

The iconic New Orleans brass band Pres Hall makes its return to Wiggins Park for its third XPoNential Music Festival. Hot off a summer tour that saw them take the Newport Jazz Fest stage, the band will have you on your feet dancing.

SNACKTIME

They were born out of the pandemic lockdown, an era when live music couldn’t happen in the traditional way. But SNACKTIME made it happen, popping up in public parks and open-air events, and spent the time since bringing their vivacious energy to the world. After touring with Fitz And The Tantrums and playing Roots Picnic, they’ll close night one on the Marina Stage.

WAR

By combining funk, R&B, rock, and Mexican rhythms, the band WAR created a truly unique musical fusion that defined the ‘70s. With over 50 million records sold, decades of touring, and a sound that still feels fresh today, War’s music is timeless, multicultural, and made to move you. We can’t wait for them to headline the Friday lineup of XPoNential.
